We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Assistant in the Project Management Unit (PMU). The PMU facilitates grant cycle processes, manages grant information/documentation and serves as the institutional one-stop contact with Donors. The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, known by its Spanish acronym, CIMMYT? is a not-for-profit research and training organization with partners in over 100 countries.? The position will be based at CIMMYT?s Main Campus (located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico) but will interact with all CIMMYT?s experimental stations and regional office (country and world-wide) on a regular basis. Specific responsibilities of this position will include: To support the daily operations of the Project Management Unit; To respond to grant-related information request and provide assistance to scientists; To maintain, archive or make available documents related to the projects; To contribute to the maintenance of accurate records of PMU transactions and data, including electronic and hard copy files; To respond on behalf of the Unit Head to straightforward/routine correspondence; To gather background information and prepare draft replies on more complex issues; To perform other duties as directed by supervisor. We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes: BA/BS in International Relations, Business Administration or related field; Excellent bilingual skills (English and Spanish); High comprehension and analytical ability, able to distill complex issues in a simple way; Effective communication and inter-personal skills, able to compose high quality correspondence; Excellent organizational skills, able to respond effectively to time-sensitive tasks; Strong attention to detail, able to maintain complete and accurate grant data, documents, correspondence, statistics and records; Client-oriented, personable, diplomatic and confident in dealing with people at all levels; Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure and as a member of diverse work team.
